Erling Haaland is super pleased with Jadon Sancho’s come back to Dortmund
Our star Erling Haaland expresses satisfaction at Jadon Sancho‘s resurgence as he returns to Borussia Dortmund, putting an end to his struggles at Manchester United.
In 2021, Sancho made a high-profile £73 million move to United from Dortmund, where he had an impressive four-year tenure. However, his performance at Old Trafford fell short of replicating his earlier brilliance, managing only 12 goals and six assists in 82 games. The situation reached a breaking point in September when a public fallout with manager Erik ten Hag resulted in his exclusion from the first team.
Ten Hag’s decision to omit Sancho from the squad for a crucial Premier League match against Arsenal was attributed to his “performances in training.” In response, the English international took to social media, asserting that he had become a “scapegoat” under the Dutch tactician.
Unable to secure a return to the first team, the 23-year-old has now opted for a loan move back to Dortmund.
Borussia Dortmund (BVB) has brought Jadon Sancho back to Signal Iduna Park for the remainder of the season under an agreement that notably lacks an option to buy.
To facilitate the return, the Bundesliga giants paid a loan fee of £3 million and will contribute to covering a portion of the wages for the Manchester City academy graduate.
Erling Haaland, the former Dortmund superstar and current standout striker for Manchester City, expressed his joy at Sancho’s return to his former home ground. Haaland, who played alongside Sancho during his one-year stint in Germany, looks forward to seeing the English winger rediscover his previous form. During their time together, Sancho impressively recorded 50 goals and 64 assists in 137 appearances.
In celebration of the move, the Norway international took to social media, posting a picture of Jadon Sancho donning the Borussia Dortmund shirt once again.
On Instagram, Haaland accompanied the image with the caption: “Beautiful.”
Erling Haaland, currently sharing the title of the Premier League’s leading goalscorer, experienced significant success during his own tenure at Dortmund. Rising to global superstardom over two years, the former Red Bull Salzburg star accumulated an impressive tally of 86 goals and 23 assists in 89 appearances. His remarkable performances led to a £51 million deal that brought him to Manchester City in 2022.
