Manchester City Beat Leicester to Reclaim Top-Four Spot

Manchester City moved into the Premier League’s top four with a composed 2-0 win over Leicester City at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night.
Jack Grealish and Omar Marmoush both found the net in the first half to give City a well-earned victory. The hosts dominated from the start, controlling possession and forcing Leicester into a defensive shell. The visitors, struggling near the bottom of the table, offered little in return.
Grealish opened the scoring just two minutes in with a low finish — a goal he emotionally dedicated to his late brother Keelan. Marmoush, stepping in for the injured Haaland, added a second before the break after pouncing on a goalkeeping error. The Egyptian forward has now scored five goals since arriving in January, continuing to impress with his movement and sharpness.
Pep Guardiola, serving a touchline ban, watched the match from the stands. Speaking post-match, he was pleased with his team’s control but admitted a third goal would have sealed it more comfortably.
“It was a solid performance,” he said. “We didn’t finish the game off with a third, but we kept them quiet and got the job done.”
The result lifts City into fourth place — at least temporarily — ahead of Chelsea’s clash later in the day. With only eight Premier League matches remaining, every point is crucial in the race for Champions League qualification.
Next up: the Manchester derby. A vital showdown that could shape City’s season.
With United on the horizon, City fans will be hoping for another clinical performance — and a chance to tighten their grip on a top-four spot.
